A. J. Pires was born on March 1963. His first work is due to his Portuguese teacher, at school, who challenged the class. A. J. Pires accepted the challenge and submitted a 22-page manuscript titled "Quatro Homens e Uma Missão Impossível" (Four Men And A Mission Impossible). He still has this first work and a few others that follow. The teacher hailed the work and encouraged him to improve his writing skills.
He kept on writing. He wrote lyrics for his own songs, poems, and stories he wanted to publish. The birth of his first child postponed most of these activities, but as the child grew older A. J. Pires returned to writing. With the same goal as ever, to publish the first novel, and aware of the difficulties for an absolute stranger in the means, he never gave up. Another pause, again the birth of another child, delayed what was then inevitable. Late October of 2011 saw Intersecção (Intersection) came to light. The first edition was out. The second edition was ready next year with a different publisher.
In late May 2014, published the second novel with the title of Vale das Sombras (Valey of the Shadows). The third book is out now. It was released on December 3rd, 2021. Its name is "NO" (NÃO).
Writing is a real pleasure, the same feelings A. J. Pires hopes to transmit to readers in his books.
